A week ago we posted about an upcoming Randy Rhodes tribute album featuring performances and collaborations by iconic names in rock and metal. The album will be out Mar. 3 and overall I'd say the response to the news was general excitement. Now… I'm a little leery of the whole thing considering what you're about to hear.
Enter System of a Down vocalist Serj Tankian's vocal performance of Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train," featuring Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, Quiet Riot bassist Rudy Sarzo and ex-Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice.
Ouch. Between the song sounding like a dry run of a demo and Tankian's awkward delivery, I'm not sure this was the best idea for a debut single. The instrumental portions are played well enough, but it sounds off to me. Is it just me or is this really that bad?
