Disturbed have gotten a lot of mileage out of their cover of "The Sound of Silence." They were invited to perform the song on Conan. Paul Simon, the original writer of the song, gave them a hat tip. The song was used by NASA, during a Dancing with the Stars performance, and even found the band performing on X Factor.
But perhaps the biggest international stage for the song comes courtesy of this year's Olympic games in South Korea. Starting in 2014, the International Skating Union changed their policy to allow skaters to pick their own songs. During these Olympics, skaters have performed to the likes of Beyonce, U2 and Lil Jon. French skating duo Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres decided to bring a little Disturbed to the Olympics and dance to that.
"Figure skating transcends pop culture." A beautiful performance by Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres paired with Disturbed's chilling cover of "Sound of Silence." #WinterOlympics https://t.co/KX4CHncv2t pic.twitter.com/8PSZ78XzRD

How do you think they did? This wasn't the first time they performed to "Sound of Silence." They performed a similar routine in May.
