Watch: TRIVIUM's MATT HEAFY Tells Security To "Wake Up" After Almost Not Saving A Crowd Surfer

The person almost went headfirst over the barrier.

TRIVIUM Streams Performance Of "In The Court Of The Dragon" Live From Their Airplane Hangar

Trivium guitarist and vocalist Matt Heafy had to give security a little nudge during a recent show to save a crowdsurfer. Heafy began frantically telling security that there was a crowdsurfer coming their way as it became increasingly evident that the person was about to fall head first over the security barrier, and onto the floor. Which, given the distance of the fall, would almost certainly not be good. Fortunately the person was caught in time and nobody got hurt, but still – yikes.

Check out footage of the incident below via Heafy's Instagram. Heafy also credits Trivium's tour and production assistant Andre with the save, shortly before telling security to "wake the fuck up."

Heafy also recently announced he's teamed up with Z2 Comics and illustrator Half Sumo for a new book called Ibaraki & Friends. The book is a rhyming picture book that explores Japanese folktales and mythologies that inspired Heafy as a child. Ibaraki & Friends was designed by Ashley Heafy and tells the tales of such classical Japanese stories as the monkey/man/bird hybrid, Tengu; the eight-headed beast, Yamata no Orochi; and a nine-tailed celestial fox. Check that out here, and catch Trivium on tour right now with Megadeth, Lamb Of God, and In Flames.
