I am pretty pumped to hear what Phil Anselmo has in store for the world with his upcoming solo project. Our first taste of the former Pantera and current Down frontman's new band will be heard in the form of a split with his labelmates Warbeast, entitled War of the Gargantuas which comes out this Tuesday, January 8th.
You can now hear 30 second samples from all four tracks of the split EP over at Amazon.com. Phil's solo tracks are the first and third tracks, "Conflict" and "Family, 'Friends,' and Associates." They sound very Phil, a bit reminiscent of Superjoint Ritual to this discerning listener. The Warbeast tracks, are pretty heavy in their own right.
I have heard the split in full and it's absolutely killer.
