Seeing as tomorrow is the last day of February, this post officially concludes our 2015 installment of Black Metal History Month. How time flies when things are grim! If you missed any of our coverage, be sure to check it out all in one place below as we recap the coldest, darkest, and shortest month of the year.
We continued our black metal history lesson with a retrospective of all the music between the years of 1985 – 1989 as well as taking a look into the history of blackend melodic death metal and talked about 5 Insane Black Metal Drummers and counted down 7 Christian Black Metal Bands you need to hear.
We ranked Immortal’s albums from least to most grim.
Our music video show, The Fix, went all black metal with videos from Dark Funeral, Taake, Immortal, Satyricon, and Emperor!
We checked in with Necrosexual in the studio and released his magnum opus on our Soundcloud page. We pondered what superhero logos would look like if they were black metal. We even had some time to eat "Baked In Blood" black metal cookies.
We also interviewed Dayal Patterson on his Black Metal Book, and sat down for a few words with Mayhem.
As always we reviewed lots of great black metal albums such as:
Barshasketh and Void Ritual Split
Gorgoroth – Pentagram
Thulcandra – Ascension Lost
YS – Vast
Enslaved – Yggdrasill
TAAKE – Stridens Hus
Marduk – Frontschwein
Don't forget to pick up your Black Metal History Month T-shirt and celebrate with us all year long! We already have some exciting plans lined up for next year.
