We've already seen the most expensive death metal hoodie ever, and now the most expensive wide-legged jeans? By now, we're guessing you heard the news that JNCOs are back on sale? The ultrawide-legged jeans have been back on the market for over a year now, and it's just enough time to get some imitations.
My friend who works in the fashion industry tipped me off to high-end fashion line Balenciaga's latest jeans offering, Cropped Wide Leg Jeans available at Brown Fashion for a staggering $635.
The description promises that these jeans, which cost the same as the monthly rent for a one bedroom apartment in New Mexico, will "infuse your denim repertoire with nonchalant nineties grunge."
Balenciaga have dipped their toes in metal before, co-opting an Iron Maiden design for their 2015 runways:
They aren't the first and they won't be the last. H&M released a line of metal logo t-shirts, Diesel sold this overpriced leather jacket with fake metal patches on it, and Urban Outfitters sold overpriced band t-shirts too. We saw Gucci co-opt an AC/DC logo, Avalone create a hoodie inspired by a Mortician logo and last year, a fashion magazine call metal "the look of the summer."
