Courtney Love is sticking up for her close friend, Pamela Anderson, with the news of the upcoming Hulu limited series Pam & Tommy.

The eight episode series stars Sebastian Stan as Tommy and Lily James as Pamela Anderson.  Seth Rogan, who is also producing, plays the guy who stole the tape. The series will also star Nick Offerman, Taylor Schilling, Andrew Dice Clay, Pepi Sonuga, Spencer Granese and Mozhan Marnò. Lee and Anderson are not involved in the making of the series. The series describes itself as “a comedic limited series on the true story behind the release of the first-ever viral video in history—the sex tape of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee.”

Lee and Anderson eventually sued the distributor of the tape for doing so without their permission. They reached an out of court settlement for an undisclosed amount.

One person not offering their support is Love. Love posted, in a since-deleted Facebook post, on May 14th "I find this so fucking outrageous," including a photo of an article about the series.

She continued "When Pam / Tommy sex tape was out, myself [and former Hole members Patty Schemel and Melissa Auf der Maur] were making a record [Celebrity Skin]. And the lone women in many recording studios in LA. Where all / ALL! The staff engineers / producers / owners / were watching the sex tape with huge schadenfraude.. Guffaws, It was disgusting. I banned anyone discussing it.. It destroyed my friend Pamelas life. Utterly."

Love noted producers reached out to use a likeness of her in the film for a magazine cover but Love refused. She concluded "My heart goes out to Pammy ♥️♥️ further causing her complex trauma. And shame on Lily James whoever the fuck she is. #vile"

Anderson, nor her estranged husband, Lee, have yet to publicly comment on the series. Based on Love's comments, we can assume they are not into it.
