Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne disputed their memories of a famous incident that allegedly took place with Mötley Crüe during both artists' partying heydays, with Sharon claiming that Ozzy never actually snorted ants like was said in Mötley Crüe's The Dirt memoir.
On the Osbournes podcast, their son Jack asked if it was true that Ozzy snorted ants like is told in the book and shown in its adapted movie. Sharon replied:
"I was not there, thank God. I used to try and stay away from Mötley when they were with Ozzy. And I don't know. I honestly don't know. All I know is that I think it made their movie. And I wanna know why, now we're on the subject, of why, when they advertise their movie on Netflix, it's a picture of a guy imitating Ozzy. Why isn't the ad campaign a picture of Mötley Crüe? Why is it a picture of your father?"
The conversation derailed from there, with Sharon calling Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx an "asshole," which Ozzy defended the bassist against. Jack pressed to know if Ozzy really snorted the ants, to which he said yes.
"Yes," he asserted. "Yes, I did. I was there. I did it. [In] my nostril… I was drunk and I did it."
Sharon maintained that she did not believe it. Former guitarist Jake E. Lee previously also disputed the validity of the story.
