2016 may have been a complete and utter shit show for the majority of us, but according to Forbes, there were a handful of rock artists who still turned this year into a positive thing. The publication just released its list of the highest paid musicians in 2016, and a few familiar names made the cut!
At #21 was Foo Fighters, who made $48.5 million, and Muse at #20 who just edged them out with $49 million. Skipping up the list, Rolling Stones came in at #8 with $66.5 million, and #7 was AC/DC with $67.5 million.
Initially I was shocked to see that Guns N' Roses didn't make the cut for the list, but Forbes states that the list is based on "pretax income from June 1, 2015, to June 1, 2016 before deducting management fees. Numbers are based on data from Pollstar, Nielsen and the RIAA, as well as interviews with managers, agents, lawyers—and some stars themselves."
Considering Guns N' Roses just got back together in April, it makes sense they didn't make it. Oh, and if you're wondering, Taylor Swift came in at #1 with $170.
