TRIVIUM's Matt Heafy Reveals How Much He Makes Off Twitch Monthly, Compared To The Band's Streaming Revenue

It's…a lot!

triviummattheadfy

Trivium guitarist and vocalist Matt Heafy has been streaming on Twitch every single weekday from nine in the morning to three in the afternoon since January 2018. Heafy does covers, plays Trivium songs, plays video games, and pretty much just entertains his tens of thousands of fans.

We've covered plenty of Heafy's Twitch activity, including Heafy playing "Down From The Sky" on a nine-string guitar and "Ignition" on an eight-string guitar.

In a new report by the New York Times, Heafy's Twitch prowess was profiled. Heafy revealed that he generates just under $10,000 per month from his Twitch channel.

The report compares that revenue to what Trivium made off streaming services between 2019 and 2020, which the report cites as $11,000 for the entire band.

Trivium bassist Paolo Gregoletto disputes the numbers in the New York Times report, tweeting this morning: "The math for streaming for the band is wrong unless the NYT only counted Spotify and no other DSPs (not sure where they got the number)."

Matt was very forthcoming with how he planned and grew his Twitch channel, during a recent panel about monetizing your band. You can watch that here.
