Remember when Mastodon members Brent Hinds, Bill Kelliher and Brann Dailor all cameoed on the hit HBO series Game of Thrones as wildlings? It was a pleasant surprise noticing the three rockers appear in a climactic scene of the season 5 finale of the series. It looks like their time on the show wasn't limited to one appearance.
Brent Hinds revealed on the Jamey Jasta podcast that he just recently got back from Belfast, Ireland, shooting a cameo for the final two seasons of the show:
I just came back from my second cameo Game of Thrones. This time, I had my broken leg and they were like “you’re doing the best zombie walk, we want you to come right towards the camera. I want you to drag this axe behind you.” I’m like a reborn, come to life wildling turning into a White Walker.
We're guessing his Mastodon bandmates once again accompanied him. Drummer Brann Dalor revealed in an interview that showrunner D.B. Weiss is a huge metalhead and was the key to getting the band to be on the show.
Season 7 of Game of Thrones will debut on July 16th. If you still haven't caught up on the most metal TV show currently airing, now is probably the best time to do so.
