The GRAMMYs just kicked off for the night, which of course means that the rock and metal categories have already been announced. This year's GRAMMY awards ceremony saw Ozzy Osbourne take home the award in the Best Metal Performance category for his song "Degradation Rules," and the award in the Best Rock Album category for his album Patient Number 9.

Osbourne and fellow nominees Turnstile were beat by Brandi Carlile in the Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance categories, both times by Carlile's song "Broken Horses." Osbourne's two wins at the GRAMMYs come on the heels of his heartbreaking announcement earlier this week that he'd be retiring from the road.

In a statement, Osbourne said his body is physically too weak to get out on the road and that his touring days are over. Osbourne said he's working with his doctors on solutions to play shows without having to travel very much, and expressed thanks for his friends, fans, family, and Judas Priest for being the openers to the now-canceled tour.
