You don't expect Korn to get a shout out at the White House, but that's exactly what happened during a Veteran's Day Medal of Honor ceremony.
President Barack Obama awarded the Medal of Honor to former Army captain Florent Groberg in a ceremony on Veteran's Day. Groberg tackled a suicide bomber in Afghanistan and was badly injured in the event, which occurred in August 2012.
During Groberg's recovery, Korn frontman Jonathan Davis actually showed up to see how he was doing. Groberg, a fan of the band, was in such shock, he thought he was hallucinating. Obama made a great contextual joke out of the situation at the awards ceremony:
"Flo thought, 'What's going on? Am I hallucinating?'" Obama said about what Groberg saw when he awoke in the hospital. Obama then joked: "Today, Flo, I wanna assure you you are not hallucinating. You are actually in the White House. Those cameras are on, [and] I am not the lead singer from Korn."
It will be interesting to see how Davis responds to this, if at all. Davis made headlines last year for calling the president a dictator.
