Fox’s The Masked Singer is the perfect example of empty calorie entertainment. It's inoffensive, has just enough star power and it's all about "having a good time" as an excuse to squeeze in 20 minutes of commercials in between it on network television. Bret Michaels got a nice paycheck appearing on the show the last few weeks.
The show is about "celebrities" who wear fancy costumes and, as the title suggests, masks, to obscure their identity. The judges are Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke and a special guest (on this episode, it was Sharon Osbourne). They judge these covers and vote off the person with their least favorite cover, who then takes their mask off to reveal themselves, and everybody acts all shocked.
Bret performed songs like "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" and "Sweet Home Alabama," and really, if you've ever heard him sing, it is pretty recognizable:

The reveal, which features everybody in the crowd disturbingly chanting "take it off," found everybody so excited it was Bret:

Anyway, Bret was scheduled to have a busy summer, on tour with Poison, and Motley Crue and Def Leppard, but it does not look like that is happening.
