Slayer released Repentless last year to much fan-fare and they're not done with the album yet. The band just announced a new three-part comic series in collaboration with Dark Horse comics based off the last album.

Jon Schnepp, the man who designed the character art for Metalocalypse, will be overseeing and writing the project with  Guiu Vilanova drawing the interiors. Glenn Fabry is in charge of the cover art and Eric Powell will do the alternate cover. Slayer guitarist Kerry King tells Rolling Stone that he is relatively hands-off with the project:

"My philosophy as far as anybody working on anything regarding Slayer, be it the album cover art or video concepts, is to let the people who do that for a living do it," he says. "That's how we started working with [cover artist] Larry Carroll for Reign in Blood,South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss. We gave him song titles, lyrics, just things to put ideas in his head."

In celebration of this occasion, Slayer will be at Comic Con for two  signings on Friday, July 22 at Nuclear Blast America (booth #501) from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and then at Dark Horse Comics (booth #2615) from 3 – 4p.m. Slayer is also playing a special sold-out show the night before at the House of Blues

Slayer: Repentless #1 is aiming for a December release, and can be pre-ordered here. Here is some initial artwork shared by the band:
