Wage War, in the context of music, is a metalcore band from Ocala, Florida. But, if you were to pick up their new politically themed t-shirt, would people on the street make the connection between the shirt and the band?
"'Tis the season to vote!" the band tweeted, before advertising their new design, available for only 24 hours. The design is a parody of the Reagan/Bush '84 logo. With the current social unrest in America, and the ongoing pandemic, it's easy to see how the shirt might get misinterpreted. Looking at the replies to the tweet, the design seems universally panned.
Not that it would exactly make it much better, but there is no mention of a portion of proceeds being donated to any charitable organization, just a band looking to capitalize on the current election. It was hard to even find one positive response in the replies when we looked. Here are some highlights.
But the real fun comes with the quote tweets…
Anyway, I'm sure we just helped Wage War sell a bunch of shirts, so you're welcome guys. Hope it's worth it.
