Metallica continue to raise the bar for touring. They are, without question, the most successful metal act and naturally, they will have certain luxuries some other bands can't afford, like clean laundry.
I've heard of many bands on the road who "hack" having to do laundry by just disposing of underwear and socks and buying new ones every few weeks at a WalMart. Dirty shirts? No problem, just trade some merch with some of the other guys on tour.
Not Metallica though.
If James' t-shirt got stained, guess what? He can have it cleaned and returned to him in a matter of hours. That's because, as Kirk Hammett reveals, Metallica travel with their own washing machine. What a life!
I feel bad for whichever tech has to go and figure out a way to connect a water hose from the venue to the machine, but I guess that's why they get paid the big bucks.
What would be a luxury item you would take on the road if your bad ever reached Metallica's level?
