Siberian are a truly fascinating artsy metal band with a grandiose vision that, when completed, will probably have taken a full decade to realize. These Swedish musical freaks have crafted their latest record based around their dreams and refine that very broad idea into something far more elegant than one might expect.
As opposed to many of their peers who compose songs about singular dreams, these tracks document dreams that occurred to three people over the course of two years. It makes for a deeply personal work that you can't help but to get lost in. It also means that you can't confine Siberian to any one genre, they are instead borrowing from a variety of sources to craft a greater whole. There is a certain epic power to the arrangements here that makes it exceedingly difficult to separate yourself from all that has been refined by the band and reminds us time and time again that Through Ages Of Sleep simply can't help but to become an all powerful and mesmerizing project.
