IRONBUNNY Is The Japanese Metal Group with A Cyborg Guitarist You've Been Waiting For

Kawaii metal is alive and well.

ironbunny

Kawaii-metal has been around for so long that it feels like we're almost seeing the second wave of it now. Obviously, the reigning leaders of the genre are Babymetal. We've seen some other girl groups popup like LadyBaby and BAND-MAID and even to some extent, Poppy.

Ironbunny is here to continue that trend, with their own twist – a cyborg guitar player named Ediee. Ediee can shred. Ediee seems to be the primary songwriter, while the vocals are sang by Hina, Kotono, and Minami. One difference between Ironbunny and Babymetal that might be appealing to some is there do not seem to be any "pop breaks" in the song, where the track ceasing being metal for a pop verse. It's pure hard rock and heavy metal through and through.

Here is their new music video:

MetalSucks points out that Kotono, Ironbunny’s lead singer, was one of the “Chosen Seven” to fill-in for the departing Yuimetal in Babymetal, so you know these girls got some cred.

Here is some incredible old footage of them performing a cover of Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation"
