San Francisco’s newly-formed blackgaze band Embrium has debuted their self-titled EP. Starting as a pandemic project between guitarist/vocalist Mosahefu, fellow musician and vocalist Jade Ordonez, guitarist Joey Menicucci and bass player Alan Onymous, Embrium embraces both simplicity and ethereal qualities. Featuring both clean and harsh vocals, hypnotizing synths, and mesmerizing melodies, Embrium creates a sound that carries the listener away.
Andrew Baird (drummer of Fallujah, who did session drums on this release) had to say: “When Mosahefu and I came together digitally to discuss the project, as soon as I heard the pro-productions tracks, I knew right out of the gate this was something I wanted to be a part of. Just the raw emotion and the passion alone in her clean singing, the vibrant ambient elements, the back-an-forth of the black metal moments to the more quieter and calmer pieces of the music."
He continued "This was something that really resonated to me, and when hearing the final product, I knew that I was in the right place by helping them with these tracks. Honored and grateful to have helped a great band come out with such a powerful song. And there's more to come!”
