VIRGIL (Ex-THE FACELESS, ENTHEOS) Drops Proggy Instru-Metal Song "Will It Blend?"

Considering the lineup, it makes sense that this is crazy.

Considering the lineup, it makes sense that this is crazy.

Virgil is the brand new progressive instru-metal band headed up by guitarist Chris Knific. Knific is joined by drummer Navene Koperweis (Entheos, ex-Animals as Leaders), bassist Brandon Giffin (ex-The Faceless, ex-Cynic), and guitarist Justin McKinney (The Zenith Passage, ex-The Faceless). He says Virgil's music draws on Pat Metheny, Yes, Cynic, and Devin Townsend, just in case you weren't already sold on this project.

You can hear their collectively incredible talent on the debut track "Will It Blend?" which jumps around quite a bit genre-wise, but there are still plenty of melodies that'll get jammed in your head. The song also never bothers to tell you if it'll blend. So that's disappointing.

Virgil will release their debut EP The Pacer on June 15, which was mixed by Simon Grove (Plini, Intervals). Pre-order the EP here.
