Amorphis have been on a roll when it comes to producing high-quality, memorable studio albums for decades, morphing their sound as time has passed, and frequently using the epic Finnish poem Kalevala as the source for their melancholic, progressive sound. Fortunately for those who love the band’s output, they don’t seem to be wasting any time in getting ready to work on the successor to their 2022 studio effort, Halo.

Speaking to Tuonela Magazine, Amorphis’s guitarist Tomi Koivusaari detailed the band’s plans for the upcoming months, which seemingly include warming up the creative engines for the new record: "Now we have like a European tour in November and then a Finnish tour in December, and in spring we are going to have some South American tour. But at the same time, we are starting to check the new ideas and song ideas, so I guess the next album will be out in '25 or something. So, we're already thinking of a producer and working in the studio.”

Koivusaari’s solo project Bjørkø’s debut album will arrive next month via Svart Records (including the talents of Opeth’s drummer Waltteri Väyrynen and Stratovarius’s bassist Lauri Porra), whereas Amorphis recently released Queen Of Time (Live At Tavastia 2021), a live record documenting the two streaming concerts they at the legendary Tavastia Club in Helsinki.
