I wonder if Anthrax and Testament are having a contest to see who can talk about a new record more and then not release it? If so, Testament is about to win that contest, considering Anthrax bassist Frank Bello said in a recent interview that the band is shooting to have the album out in January and that mixing is underway!
"We're talking about January, dude. We're just about to start mixing. We're getting all the nitty-gritty stuff done, some B-sides, all that fun stuff. But it's just about finished, and mixing will start soon. There needs to be a proper setup — when record companies set up a record and make people understand that it's coming out. By the time you get all that [done], that whole propaganda thing you need to get out there in order for people to know [that the album is on its way]. So, it's end of August now… We figure… Yeah, I'm thinking January."
I mean, let's recognize that Worship Music was a crazy good album that kicked all sorts of ass. Yes, we've been waiting for nearly five years at this point for the new stuff, but at the same time if takes Anthrax another year to make an album that's going to make our heads explode Scanners-style, then I'm down with waiting!
In the meantime, you can always listen to the band's contribution to Game Of Thrones or some clips from the new album.
