For those unaware, Audioslave consisted of Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell, and then Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford, and drummer Brad Wilk. Audioslave has been broken up since 2007, though that's about to change for one night!
On January 20, Prophets Of Rage is throwing the Anti-Inauguration Ball at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angels, and Audioslave has been announced to play the show! Which makes sense, considering three quarters of Audioslave are in Prophets Of Rage.
Politics aside for a second, who's stoked that Audioslave is reuniting, if only briefly? Obviously there's been no talk of further reunions, but both Morello and Cornell have said in the past they're not opposed to a reunion either. So I guess ultimately this isn't a huge surprise, but maybe we'll get more?
