A couple days ago, we mentioned that Avenged Sevenfold recorded a new song for the just-released Call of Duty: Black Ops II video game called Carry On. Ever since recording that song in August, the band has been working on their follow-up to 2010's Nightmare. Avenged Sevenfold vocalist M. Shadows told The Pulse Of Radio:
"I try not to say too much about the album because you know how the Internet world is, so I'll just say this: we have a direction, we're sticking to that direction, and we feel really very happy writing in these terms that we've laid out for ourselves," he said. "The album is coming along very nicely, we're excited to get in the studio, we have about six songs that I'm really happy with right now, and we're continuing to write every single day."
The new album, which is expecting to be released around June or July 2013, will be the first to not feature any musical contributions from former drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, who died of an accidental drug overdose in 2009. Mike Portnoy played drums on Nightmare, playing the music written by Sullivan.
The 2013 album will be the first Avenged Sevenfold album to feature former Confide drummer Arin Ilejay. Will A7X have another No. 1 album? Tell us what you think in the comments.
