One of the biggest stories of last year was Behemoth frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski announcing that he was diagnosed with and then eventually crushed leukemia.
When we heard that Nergal found a donor match, we were elated, but clearly not as elated as Nergal, whose life was saved.
It took two years, but Nergal has finally met the man that saved his life.
Nergal has expressed previously that he would love to meet the man who donated his bone marrow, but apparently, the reason it took two years is due to "strict regulations."
Nergal met his donor, Grzegorz Kajto earlier this week. Before the meeting, Nergal was treated to a short video interview conducted with Kajto, where Kajto revealed he didn't know his recipient's identity, but was willing to help. After meeting, Nergal reportedly said "Thank you for my life," and asked Kajto if he had any siblings to which Kajto responded "I do now."
Video of the meeting can be seen on the Polish website, TVN24.pl.
In related news, Nergal has stated in recent interviews that the band hopes to enter the studio in February to work on their new album.
