Warbeast and Rigor Mortis vocalist Bruce Corbitt has been battling esophageal cancer since 2017 and fortunately this February got some good news once it seemed that all hope was lost. Corbitt was told he could participate in a clinical trial for immunotherapies for his disease, which might help after all. For those of you unversed in oncology, immunotherapy is essentially a treatment where the drugs will attempt to turn your own immune system against certain types of cancer.
Now to help out Corbitt with his medical bills, a show called Thrash Out Cancer has been announced for Sunday, April 1 at Acadia Bar & Grill (Acadia Live) in Houston, Texas. The show will feature performances from Epic Death and Scrollkeeper, and more bands are to be announced soon. There will also be a silent auction that will feature art and music, plus items such as Rockwell Anderson Brick & Mortar Music Mecca T-shirts, Ellefson Coffee autographed by Megadeth's David Ellefson, Rockwell Anderson cap autographed by C.J. of Drowning Pool.
Tickets are $5 at the door, and if you can't make it, you can donate to Corbitt here.
