David Vincent Gracefully Exits MORBID ANGEL… We Think?

His new message leaves some room for interpretation.

His new message leaves some room for interpretation.

After the shit-show that was this week's Morbid Angel drama, it looks like we may be nearing a resolution. Moments ago, estranged frontman David Vincent's publicist issued the following:

DAVID VINCENT Encourages Fans To Stay Morbid

I had good communication with Trey yesterday and we agree that there are incompatibilities with regards to us working together.

Trey and I have accomplished amazing things together over the past 30 years and I wish him the best with his future projects. Out of respect for the legacy of these accomplishments, I encourage Morbid Angel fans to not take sides because, I am not.

I look forward to sharing my new endeavors with all of you in the near future. Until then, stay Morbid! ~David Vincent

It certainly reads like a graceful exit, but he never exactly says it. We reached out to David's publicist, and will update the story if we hear back. Update: David's publicist responded with this:

I can confirm that Trey and David are not currently working together. I know it's all very confusing to say the least, it is on our end as well. But above all, David wants Morbid Angel fans to not let their love for the band to be all about who the members are. I can also confirm that Tim Yeung and Thor Anders Myhren (Destructhor) resigned their positions within Morbid Angel.

As David stated in the just-released statement, "… there are incompatibilities with regards to us working together.". While David stands by his previously-issued statement, he is respecting Trey's goals with regards to projects he wants to do that do not include him.

Our question wasn't really answered, but it looks like this is finally ending.
