Grindcore fans have reason to be upset today, as Kat Katz has announced she's officially leaving Agoraphobic Nosebleed.
She annnounced her depature on Facebook, and it seems there are some bad feelings between her and her former bandmates. Kat writes:
“Tired of being bullied by dudes. Salome and now Agoraphobic Nosebleed.
“I quit Agoraphobic Nosebleed tonight. Hopefully, I find a band that respects me and treats me as an equal.”
Katz joined Agoraphobic Nosebleed in 2007, after quitting Salome (an excellent band in their time) for the exact same reason. Kat has one of the most powerful voices in metal, and we hope that she finds her way – perhaps a grind band without any dudes is in order.
Katz most recently performed on the 2016 Agoraphobic release, Arc, which was planned as the first of three EPs which each focus on one of the three vocalists in the band. MetalSucks notes Katz also appeared on two albums from Pig Destroyer – the other project from Agoraphobic mastermind Scott Hull.
Anyway, this is a bummer. I hope Kat finds a new gig and we can see her screaming her lungs out soon enough.
