At The Drive In's reunion isn't really going so well. Right before its big reunion tour, the band parted ways with guitarist Jim Ward and fans were pretty pissed off. The tour went on anyway, people were happy, and then the show in New York City on June 17 happened.
At The Drive In took the stage, had all its equipment set up, and then cancelled due to vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala losing his voice.
Apologies to all our fans in NYC that were coming to our show. Cedric has a health concern with his vocal chords and can't perform this evening. It is not possible to play without furthering his injury.
Thank you for your support!
ATDI has a goal to be a band for a very long time and we don't want to impede that in any way.
We will be back!
Tickets can be refunded from point of purchase.
Shortly after, they announced the whole tour is cancelled:
Sure, it's a viable excuse and all, and you can hear some pissed off fan's reactions below as the band literally calls the show off up on stage, but wouldn't Bixler-Zavala have known his voice was going prior to the show going on/band setting up? According to fans on Facebook, the sickness wasn't exactly a surprise.
