Damn it, Alexi, stop drinking! We've received multiple reports this morning from fans that were in attendance at their show last night at the Exit/In in Nashville, TN who said the band cancelled their headlining performance the night of the show when the Children of Bodom frontman was rushed to the hospital.
This is not the first time Alexi had to cancel shows, previously due to stomach alignments, and I'm assuming these issues are related.
Prior to the show starting, an announcement was made that Bodom would not be playing and refunds were offered. Additionly, the other bands on the show, Amon Amarth, Battlecross and Huntress promised to play extended sets.
Now I obviously don't know what happened but it doesn't take a scholar to realize that Alexi Laiho has a serious drinking problem and it needs to be addressed before his health takes another turn for the worse.
Update: The band just released a statement canceling tonight's show:
"We unfortunately have to cancel our performance tonight at Peabody's. Amon Amarth, Huntress and Battlecross will still play as scheduled. Refunds available at point of purchase."
The last time I spoke with Alexi was at the Revolver Golden Gods a few months back, where he said he's "slowed down" and needs to take care of himself. Looks like he needs to slow down even further:
