The spread of COVID-19 is becoming more and more real. I saw a press conference with the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, who said yesterday we will be at peak numbers in 45 days! We still haven't seen the worst of it, as this progresses, more and more people we know might be discovered to have it. Consider Slayer and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt among those.
Holt posted on Instagram that he's "suffering from all the symptoms" of the virus, and he and his wife, Lisa put themselves in quarantine to avoid spreading it.
"So I’ve been locked away with @lisaholt777 , suffering from all the symptoms of Corona, without the beer!" Holt jokes, adding "Mildly sick, better today after repeatedly waking up soaked in sweat last night. Self monitoring with my better half, and unfortunately, won’t be able to visit my grandkids until I’m symptom free for seven days. Ugh. Movie time, binge watching TV, and waiting this out!"
We wish the Holt family a speedy recovery. Other metal musicians diagnosed recently include Batushka guitarist Krzysztof Drabikowski, Crown The Empire guitarist Brandon Hoover, Ozzy Osbourne producer Andrew Watt, and a member of Slugdge.
The best precaution is just avoiding people and staying inside and blast metal. And avoid going on Twitter and having a meltdown.
