MEGADETH Cancel Next Month of Shows Due to Death in the Family

Our thoughts go out to the extended Megadeth family.

Our thoughts go out to the extended Megadeth family.

This is certainly not pleasant news to report, but Megadeth announced they have cancelled all of their booked gigs for the next month due the passing of bassist David Ellefson's brother.

In a new statement, the band said:

“Megadeth has canceled immediate tour plans as bassist David Ellefson and his family mourn the loss of his brother, who passed away on May 19, in Minneapolis, Minn. after battling cancer. A private family funeral service will be held. The band sends their deepest condolences and prayers to David during this time and ask that the fans please do the same.”

The band's next scheduled show will be on June 20th at the Amnesia Rockfest in Montebello, QC.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the Ellefson family in this time of grieving.
