While the Pfizer vaccine might be able to help with some smaller shows coming back sooner or later, bigger shows might be more difficult. Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich recently commented to CNBC's Evolve Summit on stadium shows coming back, saying they're probably last on the list.
"As we unfortunately have to come to grips with, the last thing that will happen are big concerts, you know 20,000 people in an arena, 50,000 people in a stadium," he said. "The good news on the live concert front, when Metallica and other bands like Metallica play big arena or stadium concerts again, then you can pretty much count on the fact that COVID, as we know it now, is over."
Metallica is working on a new album that both guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo believe is a more collaborative than previous efforts. It probably won't be produced by famed rock producer Nick Raskulinecz, but he's sure hoping it will be.
