Queens Of The Stone Age has unfortunately cancelled their appearance at Welcome To Rockville for next month. Replacing Queens Of The Stone Age (and other additions to the festival) are The Cult, Attila, Bones UK, Holy Wars, and Silly Goose.
"Due to unforeseen circumstances, Queens Of The Stone Age are no longer able to perform at this year’s Welcome to Rockville," said the band. "We are disappointed to miss playing for you at such a great festival & apologize for any inconvenience caused."
Queens Of The Stone Age is still booked for festivals such as Louder Than Life, Sonic Temple, Aftershock, Festival Les Nuits de Fourvière, and many more throughout 2023. As for new Queens Of The Stone Age material, guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen revealed in a 2022 interview that the band has some stuff up their sleeve.
Van Leeuwen said about the band's plans "there's stuff happening. I can't really go into what's happening. We'll see you sometime out there. There are some shows that are confirmed for next year."
Later in the same interview, Van Leeuwen is asked again about new Queens Of The Stone Age material. Van Leeuwen said "There's always stuff being kind of tossed around at all times with Queens. There are songs on the last record that [are] five or six years old, so there are songs that are still kicking around with that aesthetic that have been around for 10 years. Sometimes they take their own time to finish. You can't force them … All I can say is that there are some shows that are booked."
