When was the last time anyone had anything really substantial to say about something Rage Against the Machine was doing?
While rumors of a reunion popped up a few years ago, nothing ever came about save for a few charity shows. They had their run and ended respectfully which is awesome. What still stings despite all the stuff I just said is that drummer for the group Brad Wilk told Pulse of Radio that a show the band played in 2011 may very well have been their last.
“Well, as far as I know, we played our last show in 2011 at the Coliseum, and if that was our last show, that’s a good way to go out. I sort of had to put it in my head that that band is over in order for me to just move on with my life, to be honest with you, so that’s kind of where that lies. The Coliseum — awesome way to go out.”
Sucks I'll never get to see them, but I can imagine there's only so long you can play the same songs over and over before you're just tired of it and feel like you need to move on creatively.
So with what information we have, R.I.P. Rage Against the Machine! We knew ye well.
