As more details surface on the death of Kyle Pavone, none of the news is positive. Pavone, frontman of We Came As Romans, died Saturday, August 25th. His family released a statement last week announcing he died of an accidental overdose.
TMZ obtained a police report and the drug that he was using was heroin.
TMZ reported that his girlfriend told cops that he'd gone into the bathroom and was in there for a very long time. She went in to check on him and found him unconscious. The police report noted a syringe was found on the bathroom sink.
Kyle's girlfriend noted to authorities that Kyle has struggled with past heroin use.
Last week, Kyle's family released this statement about addiction:
“The opposite of addiction is connection. If you are feeling disconnected or lost, there is help. Please take action, whether that is talking to your families and friends, meeting with a counselor or joining a support group. If you are a friend or family member of someone who is struggling, do not be silent! If you are an artist in need of support through your struggle, we have created the Kyle Pavone foundation in Kyle’s honor to help.”
Kyle's family have since announced the Kyle Pavone Foundation. According to the foundation’s website, it was created “out of love for Kyle by his caring family as a means for friends, colleagues and fans to remember Kyle.”
The mission statement of the foundation: “The Kyle Pavone Foundation is a promise to serve and advocate for the musician community in their time of greatest need, providing hope and a means to carry on.”
