Some sad news to report: Yesterday, February 20th, after Avenged Sevenfold got off the stage during a stop on their tour with Disturbed and Chevelle, in Stuttgart, Germany, a 19 year old stagehand, identified as Marvin P. died in an accident.
German news outlet Bild reports that as the crew was dismantling the stage, a 26-year-old stagehand fell 20 meters (that's approximately 65 feet) directly onto Marvin P. The 26 year old survived the fall with serious injuries but sadly Marvin died at the scene. Crew members are still unsure why the initial fall happened and noted than an expert will try to "reconstruct the accident."
A spokesperson for the venue stated "We have never had a fatal accident since the opening of the Schleyer-Halle in 1983. It is a terrible tragic event. We mourn with the family and friends of the young man."
Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed and Chevelle were set to perform tonight in Milan, Italy, but that show has been cancelled with venue promoters saying the cancellation came because Avenged frontman M. Shadows was ill. None of the bands commented on the situation yet.
