Chico, California sludge metal outfit, Cold Blue Mountain, recently announced via their website that Brandon Squyres, the band's vocalist, will be participating in the upcoming season of The Amazing Race. The show, now entering its 23rd season, features 11 two-person teams who travel all over the world arguing with each other in taxis and competing in various challenges to try and win a lot of money.
Brandon is participating with his childhood friend, Adam Switzer, a wildlife firefighter and eco-friendly farmer. Brandon is the one on the left in the picture above if you're interested. The two will be taking on 10 other teams made up of boring non-metalheads, so tune in starting September 29th on CBS to root for these bearded hessians as they steamroller the competition. They both seem like cool guys and hopefully this will bring some exposure to Cold Blue Mountain; the band released a great album last year but haven't gotten much press about it at all.
