Corey Taylor has fronted Slipknot for over 25 years at this point, meaning the man has some preferences on his own band's music. In an interview with Revolver, Taylor revealed the Slipknot songs he feels are the most overrated and underrated, one of which will not surprise you.
On the track that's the most overrated, Taylor is sticking with his long-held claim that he's not a fan of "Wait And Bleed" from Slipknot's 1999 self-titled album. Despite his dislike for the song, Taylor said he's grateful to have such an iconic track under his belt.
"I'm very much on the record saying that 'Wait and Bleed' is a pain in my fucking ass. I've been singing it for 26 years and it hasn't gotten easier, folks!" he said. "But I still sing it with Slipknot and with my solo project, which tells you how much of a psycho I am, because I know people love that song. So, you gotta do it — and listen, it's a good problem to have."
On the most underrated song, Taylor goes with "Danger — Keep Away" from 2004's Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). Which is an interesting pick, in that Taylor doesn't go for anything stupid heavy like an Iowa deep cut.
"To me, the most underrated Slipknot song is 'Danger — Keep Away.' I love both versions, the one that's on the album and the uncut version that eventually came out. There's some beautiful parts to that song."
