Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor is in the midst of a promotional push for his new solo record, CMFT, out in October. He recently appeared on Australian radio show Triple M Rock Interviews. He was asked about the current pandemic and if he had a message to the folks in the local area of Victoria, Australia who did not wear masks.
Taylor kept it simple. “Yeah, stop whining and put your god damn mask on. This isn’t an isolated incident. My country’s loaded with these dumbasses that think it is some sort of political standpoint or some sort of partisan garbage.
“And I’m just like, ‘Are you serious?’ Just because you haven’t had anyone in your life affected by it doesn’t mean that it’s not a real thing.”
He added: “I once had to wear a full head mask for eight hours while doing Slipknot press. Eight hours straight – didn’t take it off, but these people are going to bitch and moan about wearing it for 10 minutes at the market? Get over yourselves.”
That's right. If Corey can wear a full face mask for eight hours, you can wear one for your trip to the store. If you are still somehow skeptical about the efficiency of masks, this video makes the case pretty simply:
The faster this is all over, the faster we can return to going to shows, and isn't that what we all want?
