That's right! As if i weren't enough that Cult of Luna had released their album Vertikal early on in 2013, they've decided that there will be a second record, titled Vertikal II! Come on in for the details!
According to the band's vocalist and guitarist, Johannes Persson, about the record:
Vertikal II is the continuation of our journey into the harshness of the monotone city landscape. The songs were written during the Vertikal-session and we always intended them to be released close to the album. Justin Broadrick‘s remix was not a part of the original plan but since it came out phenomenally good we thought that it would fit perfectly as closer of the whole Vertikal-project. With Vertikal II we complete and end a chapter that, for the last few years, have been a big part of our lives. Now we leave the inner city and look up into the vast void above.
Interesting that these aren't just B-sides, but an actual thought that came along with the original album and said nothing about until right now. Maybe they've decided to make this public now since they'll be on tour with Katatonia this fall and it'll help them out? Or maybe it's just because it's a record release… and selling those things is how you keep afloat. So I've heard. The track list for Vertikal II is:
01. O R O
02. Light Chaser
03. Shun The Mask
04 Vicarious Redemption (Justin K. Broadrick remix)
