Dave Davidson is about to have a very busy day at the upcoming Metal Injection Festival. Not only is Davidson premiering his band Pallid Veil – also featuring Luc Lemay of Gorguts, Liam Wilson of The Dillinger Escape Plan and In Flames, and Elliot Hoffman of Carbomb – but he's gotta rip through a whole set of Revocation songs too.
"We're playing the same day, too. So that just kind of adds like an extra element in there," said Davidson in an interview with Metal Injection. "But yeah, I'm really excited to tackle that challenge. It's definitely going to be a lot of work. I'm going to be in the woodshed, you know, for sure, leading up to the festival. Hopefully we'll have all the Pallid Veil material written by the time the festival happens.
"But I mean, yeah, even with Revocation, it's certainly no walk in the park. I'm going to have to sort of dust off the [Jackson] Warriors and make sure that my technique is up to snuff."
So what should you expect from Revocation's set? Davidson said they're going to alter it a little from what they've normally been playing, but it'll still be very Netherheaven-heavy. "We pretty much have had a good set I think, that we've worked out that will probably alter a bit for the fest," he said. "Certainly we're going to be playing a bunch of stuff off Netherheaven still, because that's still a pretty fresh record."
And yes – there's new Revocation coming somewhere between everything else Davidson has been up to. "Over this whole summer, it's like I'm finishing the Gargoyl record. Then I'm doing the Revocation record and then all throughout that I'm writing and rehearsing new material for for Pallid Veil. So that's going to be… it's going to be a busy summer. But, you know, busy is good, especially as a musician."
The Metal Injection will be held in New York at Brooklyn Monarch & Meadows on September 21 and 22. Get your tickets right here.
