Coolest motherfucker Dave Grohl likes to jam with bands he enjoys. After championing Queens of the Stone Age, he sat behind the kit for one of their records. After loving Tenacious D, he's basically their official studio drummer.
And he loves Ghost and he even played drums on the band's covers album as well as producing it. But that's all in the studio. Did Grohl ever play live with the band? It's hard for anybody to tell since all the musicians sans vocalist Papa Emeritus wear masks. Turns out, he likely did. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, one of the nameless ghouls basically confirms it:
Well, we can’t really know, can we? I can tell you this much: He has played Ghost material in a ghoul suit. And he might or might have not have [performed onstage], and he might or might not in the future. How’s that for a commercial cliffhanger?
This is why I love Ghost. They could have a megastar like Dave Grohl, who is a huge fan, actually join the band for a jam, and nobody would know because of their image.
I hope it happens. All hail Ghost!
