DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN recently announced some CD details to Decibel Magazine. "We have pretty well-produced demos," guitarist Ben Weinman explains, "and some prospective song titles—'Saigon Whore,' 'Medusa,' 'Fix Your Fucking Face,' 'Doll Keeper,' and 'Party Smasher'—but nothing official yet. This is the first time we're pretty much recording every idea before we even attempt to lay it down in the studio. Plus, for the first time since Calculating, we're going to be recording a lot of this to tape, so we really need to be on the ball. Computers will definitely be used, but mostly to aid in the creative process."
Weinman's streamlined agenda has also assisted the aforementioned process. "The whole Miss Machine process was surrounded by a lot of band business, which really consumed me," he offers. "I've cut most of that out of my life at the moment and I think it's affecting the writing and me as a musician pretty positively. Also, to be honest, there's been a lot of drama surrounding the band since we started really attacking the majority of the writing for this record. I think you'll hear that fire in these songs. This album is going to be much more uncomfortable than Miss Machine. It's time for people to be uncomfortable again. This record will molest you."
