If you missed it, over the weekend, Ghost unveiled a new track to the masses, called "Secular Haze" and it is pretty great. The band know how to make a catchy number.
Additionally, the band launched a YouTube page, and released a live performance of the song, and this is where things get interesting.
The below video is accompanied by the caption "Ghost live at Cupolen in Linköping, Sweden, where the throne of Papa Emeritus I was usurped by Papa Emeritus II at the end of Genesis. The ritual was followed by a live premiere of the new track Secular Haze."
Wait… what?!

In the video, there are clearly two Papas, but is this more of a ploy? I am assuming this is all for show. The original Papa probably left the stage, before the end of the song, this imposter Papa came out pretending to be Papa I, and then the original Papa got in Papa II costume and came back out to declare himself the new Papa Emeritus. Confused yet?
Overall, I am absolutely loving all of this. If there was an award for band image marketing, this band would win without question. They are shrouded in mystery, constantly leaving us guessing, like with this vocalist switch.
Look for a new Ghost album in early 2013.
