Ever since the departure of long-time Dragonforce vocalist ZP Theart, fans have been anxiously awaiting news about the future of the band. After thousands of audition tapes and almost a year of searching, Dragonforce finally announced that they had found their new bandmate, 23 year-old Marc Hudson:
I'm really excited about being a part of the Dragonforce family. It's always been my dream to dedicate my life to making music. I'm going to bring all the power and emotion I can to the songs, and help make the killer new record the fans have been waiting for!
Hailing from England, Hudson has been playing in the underground scene and developing his signing style, heavily influenced by vocalists such as Michael Kiske, Sebastian Bach and Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden, who he will be touring with for two shows at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast August 3, 2011 and the second at The O2Arena in London August 5, 2011.
Founding member and guitarist Herman Li commented:
After almost a year of searching around the globe, it's great to be able to finally tell our fans the good news. Marc's expressive and melodic vocals are sounding phenomenal on the new songs, adding another dimension to the Dragonforce sound that I am sure all the fans will love.
Dragonforce plan to release a new album in September and to once again embark on a world tour.
