Two trans stories in one day on Metal Injection – it's a new record. Unfortunately, both deal with grossness. I wrote about Melissa from Absu coming out as trans, and now another trans artist is speaking out – Life of Agony's Mina Caputo.
Mina came out as transgender in 2011, and it seems in the time since then, there are some unresolved feelings between her and former drummer Sal Abruscato. The PRP reports a fan asked Mina if a rumor, that the fan claims was spread by Sal, that Mina voted for Trump was true. Mina did not respond in kind about Sal:
“Poor Sal was kicked out of Type O Neg kicked out of LifeOfAgony 2X, is a bigot, homophobe-Transphobic Supprtd TransBan in Military He’s a gas-lighter amngst his (wht was his mst loving friends)He’s Envious Spiteful combative & hates his own pathetic life Contemplate that genius!”
Being a native Brooklynite who heard his name mentioned in public, Sal couldn't help but chime in with a retort on his Facebook.
“Look at what this piece of shit tweeted about me on Oct 25. I haven’t said a word in 10 months, just been busy with my album and you suddenly need to talk smack about me. #fuckyoumina#janisjoplinsuglytwinsister”
Well, Mina was certainly right about Sal being spiteful. There are clearly some hard feelings here because both parties could've taken the high road and avoided publicly talking about each other, but this is 2018.
