Maynard James Keenan has a thing with cellphones. All concerts from Tool, A Perfect Circle and his solo project Puscifer all ban the use of cellphones to shoot photos or video during the live set. In fact, as A Perfect Circle is setting up during their current run of arena dates, fans are greeted with this message about the no photo policy:
Maynard is notorious for being no fan of flashes of light and it's his show, so he gets to set the rules, right? Well, this isn't just a warning. MetalSucks reports that over 60 people were ejected from the band's Reading, PA show this past Saturday at Santander Arena & Santander Performing Arts Center. The general manager of the venues, David Farrar, confirmed the news in comments on Instagram, responding to a friend that manages to snap some photos of A Perfect Circle.

How do you feel about the policy? Some fans in attendance pay anywhere from $50 to $80 to get in and are then told to keep their phone away? Is this really necessary? At the same time, it must be nice to actually watch a show without the glow of a million phones blocking your view. I'm torn.
