Every Time I Die announced their breakup on January 17 after having a public falling out with vocalist Keith Buckley throughout December. The issues began to show in the public eye on December 3 when vocalist Keith Buckley announced that he would be taking a mental health break from the band. Keith then clarified his original statement adding that since his sobriety, he felt ostracized from some members of the band, and called out his brother guitarist Jordan Buckley.
Every Time I Die then released a new statement the day after saying they are resolving things "privately" with Keith, and that they would all perform their 'Tid The Season show on December 11. Unfortunately, this would be Every Time I Die's last show. On January 17, the band made the announcement they were done, noting that "Every Time I Die was these 5 members, and we were never budging or accepting any changes. Simply, there is zero truth about the band continuing on with a new singer." Keith responded by posting a screenshot of a letter he sent from a lawyer to the other members of Every Time I Die's legal representation.
So where does this leave everyone outside Keith? According to Jordan in a series of responses, hopefully with a brand new band. Jordan said he hopes that he, guitarist Andy Williams, bassist Stephen Micciche, and drummer Clayton "Goose" Holyoak can continue on making new music. Jordan also mentions that there was never a plan to replace Keith, calling him a "tremendous talent."
